hey life masters this is Stefan James
from project life mastery and today I'm
going to share with you Tony Robbins top
10 rules for success number one model
success this has really been a key
principle towards Tony Robbins success
he learned from his mentor when he was
17 years old Jim Rohn that success
leaves clues that if any one successful
it's not because they're lucky there are
specific things that they're doing that
you can learn and model from that person
to apply to yourself in your life
that can allow you to get a similar
result so you'd find someone that is
successful and you'd elicit from them
their beliefs their mindset their values
their actions their behaviors and you'd
elicit that and apply that to yourself
and get a similar result and this is
since 17 years old all the way up to
today and continues to do that's allowed
him to compress decades into days he
modeled Jim Rohn he modeled Richard
Bandler and John grinder who created
neural linguistic programming he modeled
some of the top financial traders in the
world from Warren Buffett and Carl Icahn
and Ray Dalio and he continues to be a
master of modeling and that's really
what's allowed him to accelerate time
and develop himself into becoming who he
is today model someone who was already
getting the results that you want if you
want to accelerate the tempo of mastery
find somebody that's already getting the
result and figure out how they do it and
do the same thing success leaves what
Clues if someone is successful not once
not twice but consistently in anything
they're not lucky they have a strategy
they may not even know their strategy
but they have won and if you study them
you can figure out what it is and you
can save yourself decades of trial and
error learning this is the number one
secret for the things in my life that
have worked that I've mastered it's like
why why would I try and figure all this
out when I can find the best on earth
number two make new decisions Tony
Robbins says that it's near moments of
decisions that your destiny is shaped
that in any moment you can change your
life by making a new decision that if
right now you're going on a certain
direction in your life and you make a
small ten degree
shift ten degree shift it might seem
like nothing in the moment but if you
take that decision out a year from now
five years ten years from now you're in
a totally different destination so make
new decisions and decisions that can
change your life ultimately I'm talking
about a lot of things here but what
shapes in our lives is our decisions I
mean you look at your destiny and see
how your life is turned out
I personally believe in a force
obviously greater than ourselves I call
it God I don't know what your term is
I'm not here to tell you what to believe
spiritually but I do know one thing we
all know something has given us the gift
of life and the only we're going to
maximize it is if we make some new
choices decisions change our lives if
you look back on your life for example
say over the last 10 years or so and you
want to know why your life is the way
you have it today the things you love
about your life and things you don't
like and verily it comes down to
decisions you made sometimes there were
little decisions they seemed like at
least at the time like you're heading in
this direction and you made a 10 degree
shift it's a small decision but when you
take that decision out a week from now
you know a month from now six months
from now you have a totally different
destination or destiny
have there been some decisions your life
that were tough but you got yourself to
do it and as a result your whole life
changed maybe some decisions about your
body or your relationships or your
finances or your career or your kids or
your relationship with your Creator I
don't know what those decisions were but
I know those decisions shape us all Tony
Robbins third rule for success is to
take massive action Tony Robbins built
his career through infomercials by
preaching personal power and personal
power is your ability to take action so
he believed that knowledge was not power
knowledge is only potential power to the
extent of it being used the real power
is their ability to take massive action
towards your decisions towards your
goals towards whatever it is that you
want massive action is the Kuril the
number one key to all success in life if
you're interested you might wonder right
this happen only if you're interested in
the number one key to all success in
life if not don't bother jot it down the
answer I came up with the number one key
to all success is
knowledge knowledge I said certainly
people who succeed they know things that
other people just don't know that's why
there's so much more successful but
knowledge is it and as soon as I wrote
down knowledge of my notes I crossed it
out because that's definitely not it how
could you even write that down come on
you got to know better than that see if
it was knowledge and everybody who's
educated would be successful you know
that's not true all right how many of
you in this room how many of you people
in this room right now know somebody who
should change your life they know they
should change their life even know how
they could change their life what they
still don't do it how are you know
somebody like this maybe intimately yeah
that's right so knowledge of I itself is
not enough see knowing is great but it's
not enough knowledge is not power
knowledge is information how or
something else and what I think is the
really number one key to all success is
something I call personal power
this is really it jot it down personal
power that to me is the single
number-one foundational key to all
success if you use it you can get
everything else that you want personal
power means the ability to take action
to follow through to take the steps that
are necessary to take an idea and
translate it into reality
and it's the number one tool that most
people I've never exercised and the gift
that every one of us has right now and
in any moment of life even if you
haven't used this gift for 20 years
right now by one decision you could
start using your power you could start
following through you could take this
idea in your head and turn it into
physical reality Tony Robbins rule for
success number four is to raise your
standards he said many times that if you
want to change your life raise your
standards and what that really means is
that you got to turn your shoulds into a
must see we all have a list of shoulds I
should work out more I should work
harder I should do this I should do that
but you end up just shooting all over
yourself you don't take any action
you're not going to really follow
through until you make it a must and
when you say to yourself this is what
I'm committed to I'm gonna do whatever
it takes
and he believes one of the best ways to
do that is to get leverage on yourself
by associating
pain a consequence towards not doing it
so that you make it a must you burn the
boat so you've got to take the island
you've got to move forward no matter
what and you also associate pleasure
towards the benefits the results you get
by actually following through and taking
action so turn your shoulds into a must
and raise your standards I mean I always
tell people if you want to know how to
change your life that give it to you in
three words boring as it sounds
raise your standards and what does that
mean corny as it sounds raise your
standards I'll thank you for the
breakthrough thought Tony I'm glad I
wasted my time watching this little
email of you but think about it lasting
change is different than a goal you
don't always get your goals but you
always get your standards maybe it'll
help you is to think about it this way I
try to explain standards to people with
a different set of words think of it as
everybody in life gets their must they
don't get their shoulds right think
about it
you must be above a list of shoulds no
they don't you have a list of the
shoulds things you should do you should
follow through on I I should lose some
weight I should work out more I should
make more calls I should respond more
rapidly to my email whatever you know I
should get into the office earlier I
should be you know more confident
whatever your should list is people love
to have their should list make me met
but it's kind of like New Year's
resolutions if it does it's really
exciting but if it doesn't which is most
the time it's a little disappointing but
you kind of know it's not gonna happen
but when you decide something as a must
for you an absolute must when you cut up
any possible you say I'm gonna find the
way I'm gonna make the way human beings
when they resolve things and they have
make a real resolution inside themselves
which is they raise the standard they
make it a must they find the way Tony
Robbins fifth rule for success is to
create an hour of power or 30 minutes to
thrive or 15 minutes for fulfillment
what this really is is a morning ritual
to make sure that you take time for
yourself
first thing in the morning to nurture
yourself to nurture your mind or body
your spirit to make sure that you value
yourself enough that you take that time
so that you can be at your best each day
you're not waking up being reactive to
everything around you but you're being
proactive by making sure that you're in
a powerful state by making sure that you
feel a sense of gratitude and joy and
appreciation for
life that you ask yourself empowering
questions in the morning and you
visualize what you really want by
setting up your day the right way by
having an hour of power it's gonna make
sure that the rest of your day and your
life is gonna allow you to get the most
out of it and perform at the highest
level the hour of power or to 15 minutes
to be able to be fulfilled or 30 minutes
to thrive where you literally just
condition your body and emotion with a
couple little rituals so it doesn't
matter what's going on in your world you
feel that strength and it's not fake
it's not some pump up it's coming from
inside you and it works rituals define
us see all the results in your life are
coming from your rituals they start with
a standard and then have rituals that
follow it up like for example if you are
where you want to be physically you have
very different rituals than if you're
not where you want to be physically if
you're overweight you and I both know
you got a different ritual than if
you're physically fit completely
different you get up in the morning
what's the first thing you do if you're
fit your shoes are there you roll over
then then how you feel you put on your
shoes you lace and you start walking or
whatever that ritual is if you're
overweight you roll over and you have a
very different ritual you might roll
over several times to turn the alarm
clock off you go in and get your mocha
mocha or whatever you know special
coffee stop by at Starbucks or over the
case maybe you have your nice sugar
muffin you know it's supposed to be
really nice for you whatever you do it's
a different ritual
number six is resourcefulness you see
resourceful people find the resources
that there's many times in your life
that you might say I don't have the time
I don't have the money I don't have the
team I don't have the knowledge I don't
have the experience I don't have fill in
the blank and understand all that really
is is a resource but he says that people
that are resourceful they find the
resources they make it happen they find
the time they find the money they make
it happen no matter what because they're
tapping into something more they're
tapping into their drive there's human
emotion their commitment towards making
the way no matter what so be resourceful
and so you're telling me I failed
because I didn't have the resources and
I'm here to tell you what you already
know resources are never the problem
it's a lack of resourcefulness is why
you failed because the ultimate
resources
our emotional states if you're creative
enough can you find the answer yes or no
if you're determined enough can you find
the breakthrough yes or no if you're
passionate loving enough can you get
someone to help you yes or no if there's
no way that you're committed can you
find the money even if you don't have it
yes or no
so I said creativity decisiveness
passion honesty sincerity love these are
the ultimate human resources and when
you engage these resource you can get
any other resource on earth and I said
so you told me all the resources you're
missing and you hypnotized yourself into
believing that you don't have what you
want because you don't have the
resources
when the most successful people in
history had no resources but they were
incredibly resourceful so they got the
resources resourcefulness is the
ultimate resource and if you don't have
what you want stop telling yourself the
story because you don't the money all
the time that's bullshit it's because
you haven't committed yourself where you
would burn your boats if you want to
take the fucking island burn your
fucking boats and you will take the
island because people when they're gonna
either die or succeed tend to succeed
but most of us give ourselves a way out
and that's why we don't have what we
want Tony Robbins seventh rule for
success is what he calls Kenai which
stands for constant and never-ending
improvement it originates from the
Japanese philosophy of Kaizen which
means that you're always improving
yourself you're always growing
it never ends the training never stops
if you want an extraordinary life you
must always be reading books and
learning and studded and modeling
success and it's an ongoing pursuit in
your life towards all aspects of life
not just in your business or career but
in your relationships with your health
with your body with your relationships
and your mindset your beliefs your
spiritual life everything you must
always be growing if you're not growing
then you're dying but you can't have a
standard education and expect to have an
extraordinary life it's not gonna happen
the one breakthrough for all leaders is
constant never-ending improvement and
that means educating yourself and
continuing to develop even greater
emotional mastery because that's what
affects whether you execute enough for
self education is there we have to
change our psychology for
I'm gonna do what everybody else does
and I'm mad because it doesn't work
anymore - the reality is this the
greatest time to be alive if you're
growing you're learning you're educating
and you're developing valuable skills
and how do I work harder on myself than
anything else because if I become more
valuable then I will be able to give
more do more and change more when I
interviewed warren buffett asked the
most important vestment he ever made in
his life you know he said it was I was
thinking of all the companies they've
done you know he said Tony going to Dale
Carnegie said what he goes because by
developing myself that's the most
important investment those skill sets
learning how to persuade learning how to
speak learning and influence all my
ideas would have died on my lips if I
hadn't be able to influence and I
learned it from that little course most
valuable thing I ever did in my life he
said so all of us have to understand
this is the most important investment we
have to retool ourselves and leaders we
got to take other people on our teams
and keep growing and that's what's gonna
make your company and valuable not just
recruiting new people but constantly
upgrading the skills of the people you
have number a is contribution
Suetonius said that the secret to living
is giving Tony's whole life is based on
contribution making an impact adding
value to others whether it's in his
business his personal life for no matter
what it is he's always trying to find a
way is to give and contribute beyond
himself and he said many times that the
more that you give the more it comes
back to you
he shares many examples and stories when
he was young and you know he was fed
when he was a young boy on Thanksgiving
and that made an impact for him to want
to make a difference in give and he
built the Tony Robbins foundation now
which is now fed millions of people all
around the world but his whole mission
his whole life is based on contribution
one of my favorite things that he said
many times is that my caring is my
ultimate power you know he's someone
that sincerely cares about other human
beings and when you care about others
more than yourself in some cases you'll
find a way to serve them and impact them
and help them and I think that really
comes through and what he teaches and
what he does he's made an impact in my
life and obviously yours as well if
you're watching this which makes you a
raving fan to want to come back for more
of what he has to offer so find ways to
give and make that a standard a must in
your life to always be giving and
contributing in your life in your
business but also your personal life as
well and it's gonna lead to a lot of joy
and happiness
this means that whenever you give it's
always gonna come back so you don't have
to ever think about that again just give
and the rewards be great and you can
ever imagine
I don't know if that's coincidence but I
decided to believe that day was the
blessing when I became rich and I can
tell you honestly I've had tough days in
my life economically emotionally like
all of us but I've never gone back to
the scarcity I never will the secret to
living is giving do it when you don't
have it and I promise you
scarcity will leave your life Tony
Robbins ninth rule for success is that
success without fulfillment is failure
that's such an important concept because
a lot of people they're striving towards
financial success they think by having
more money they're gonna be happy but
Tony believes and he really taught me
that you could have all the money in the
world you can have all the financial
success that other people look up to you
for but if you're not fulfilled if
you're not happy then you're a failure
so really prioritizing your emotional
well-being your happiness your
fulfillment not just mastering the
science of achievement but master the
art of fulfillment at the end of the day
the quality of your life comes down to
the quality of the emotions that you
consistently experience so change your
emotions and you'll change your life
phrase I use most often I hope you've
heard me saying you take it in once
again maybe deeper is success without
fulfillment is the ultimate failure
success without fulfillment is the
ultimate failure but if we don't
physically make a decision how we're
gonna live then we'll show up like
everybody else because the human mind is
not gonna make you happy
this brain of yours won't do it you have
to direct it and there's no worse fate
than to achieve everything and not be
fulfilled how many of have the days
where you achieve this huge goal and
your brain always wanted it and you got
it and then your brain went is this all
there is who's been there
and last but not least number ten is who
you spend time with is who you become
proximity is power Tony Robbins has said
many times that he believes that one of
the most important decisions you can
ever make in your life is who you decide
to spend your life with there's one
really powerful story that he shares
where one time he went to speak to the
US Marines and he gave this big speech
and they're inspired and motivated from
it and afterwards the general came to
Tony and said Tony what you said was
amazing I know that you know these
Marines were moved here today and that
their standards are gonna go up to a
whole new level but one thing he said to
Tony who said that you know one thing
I've noticed is that a lot of these
Marines here today right now at this
stage of their life their standards are
the highest it's ever been I mean
they've got to wake up at a certain time
they got to be in peak physical
condition and shape they're gonna make
their bed perfectly they got to make
sure their boots are shined perfectly
like everything their standards are
incredible and the general said to Tony
you know one thing I noticed though is
that often when they leave this
environment and they go back to their
regular lives and their homes that those
standards drop a lot of them become lazy
a lot of them turn to drugs or alcohol a
lot of a lot of them just you know this
don't have those same standards they
gain weight and they're they're not
living at that level that they were
before and he said why is that
you know Tony you've coached and you've
been around so many people why do you
think that is and Tony said to him it's
because people's lives are a direct
reflection of the expectations of their
peer group I'm gonna see that one more
time people's lives are a direct
reflection of the expectations of their
peer group so when you're in a peer
group of an ecosystem a mastermind of
other people they're living life at a
high level then you automatically move
up to those level you move up to those
expectations if you're around people
that have low standards you will drop
down based on other people's standards
and expectations around you so if you
want to change your life change who you
spend time with and surround yourself
with people that do have those high
standards is it that you can take people
who have the natural potential yes and
who are because of all kinds of things
they're not realizing the natural
potential and they've got all kinds of
barriers have gotten in the way all
kinds of atrophy and everything else and
you can strip that away and give them or
are transferred to them or whatever the
term you uncovered okay that's my point
but they got order to have it you can't
take somebody who is born who will never
be better than 250 - because that's the
max of his athletic ability and make him
into a 320 hitter man you know so here
only taking people who have not maxed
out of their potential by a wide mark do
you think that is 99 percent of the
world so but here's the truth all right
most of us have under sold ourselves
yeah a very deep level whether it be how
much passion we really could have in our
life whether it be how vitally I thought
I could be angry and so what's happening
is everyone has that including me so I
look to those coaches I believe who you
are is who you spend time with that the
quality you are who you spend time with
us who you become because whoever you
spend time with affects your beliefs and
your values and your need for their love
their attention their significance will
affect if I'm gonna play tennis and I
play something worse than I am on a
regular basis I'm not gonna get better
right so you get my I see even if you
label your skill sets are going to grow
significantly because of your desire to
connect in to play at that level okay so
