AirPods 2 Review! Everything New vs AirPods 1 #Helpful Post

39Kwhat's up guys everything out full Pro

here today we've got air pods - it's

always a great day get a sit and talk

about new air pods so these weren't the

upgrade we were expecting but it's the

one we deserve or at least I think

anyways I was on my way to Seattle to

pick these up there were none in my area

then Bridgeport got them so I managed to

turn around finally get some air pause

what a mission it has been just to get

here to sit down and open these book

we've got the wireless charging case

we've got the new air pods - I'm

genuinely curious how different are they

compared to the first generation and

what way did they change like where are

the changes I want to notice all those

so so far people have been saying that

the sound quality is better and others

have said it hasn't changed at all

that's why I'm I'm very curious is it

any better I'm actually gonna do a

teardown and open them up see what's

inside but just from the software side I

want to see how much faster are they

than regular air pods and just for the

effect I'm going to open some

first-generation ones as well so $200

what are you getting for $200 you're

getting the h1 chip you're getting

bluetooth 5.0 there's a new hinge on air

pods to that I'm also very curious about

I mean seeing some stuff online about it

is the hinge any better or worse how's

the snappiness I'm sure Apple considers

that man it's kind of hot here that one

says it on the front so the packaging

changes where this one says it has the

wireless charging case on it right here

this is its own case well than that in a

sec alright so right from the get-go

this is what we got going on we have a

little LED right here and it doesn't

feel any different let me see just the

weights alone

off these out of here yeah my fingers

are all injured guys sorry I am a

walking wreck a fuel just about the same

maybe a little heavier but no I'm not

not bad at all the button placement on

the back does change but so let's see

more in detail what we got going on so

the text the text is lighter now the

metal on the back of the hinge it's now

a matte like a frosted metal very cool

button is just as clickable still the

same fun design you know and love

lightning port on the bottom now looks

like the LED case is only thing that's

different otherwise let's see if

anything has changed on the in

I hear still includes the same lightning

cable cool so not a lot going on you

know you expect for such a big change

you'd expect Apple to to market it

differently you would basically not even

know this is a different case had it not

been for this little wireless charging

case over here same look same everything

practically everywhere on it hmm

I would have done more calls Apple I

would have embraced the air pods loved

even more but hey glad to have these at

least okay so you know there are a

couple of tests that I had in mind

driving home kind of to really get an

idea for the sound test and I think

we're gonna do a blind hearing test and

you know just gonna do the usual one in

one in the other from each generation

but okay opening it up does it come

charged oh and this is what happens so

these actually need a software update

right away I heard you could use them on

iOS 12.2 or earlier so if you are

waiting for a jailbreak you might be

able even use these we'll find out here

in a second some features of this audio

accessory require a new version of iOS

so huh you do need to be on the latest

iOS 12.2 in order to run this very cool

alright so I'm on an iOS 12 earlier beta

12.2 so I'm gonna go without this see

what we can do without setting it up

with updates for the jailbreak peeps out

there oh there's a new connection screen

definitely audio accessory connecting

but I wonder if we'll be able to get the

Siri functionality without the software

updates does it need to be on it as a

question so while that's setting up

these don't look any different from the

outside they look exactly the same the

back alright so it looks like these have

connected very cool ooh the hinge inside

has got that frosted matte look I'm not

seeing any physical changes the text is

the same yeah there's like no change

even the text on the bottom is almost

the same just a different model number

alright man what a journey this is so

hard I don't know why I mix them up I

literally mix them up and one of the air

pods syncs with the new wireless case

from the first gen so that tells me that

they're very similar if they're

interchangeable and you can use them

with both cases which you can I do

confirm then are they even any

difference so I've updated both the 12.2

hopefully hopefully we can get something

going here finally but I've set them up

on their own respective devices finally

okay now we get the option to set up a

series so basically if you're on an

earlier firmware you will not have the

option to set up hey Siri that function

okay so now they're set up properly on

the firmware that belongs to these air

pods so you can confirm them to earlier

devices it's just the compatibility

isn't going to be exactly the same and

you're not gonna get the hey Siri

feature so let's try that out oh it did

work cool so now hey Siri play a song

easily switch through songs wow that is

so convenient hey Siri play the next

song cool and there's that Iowa's 12.2

new pop ups so that's why they did that

huh because you're gonna be asking Siri

for that often so that new music player

that's new just for this reason very

cool okay one in each ear firing from

the hip

let's go wow they actually have

different start times yeah even so here

we go one two three so now I'm gonna

bring him up to about the same

you'd be very hard-pressed to notice a

difference it sounds like the same in

both ears hmm so you know I'll turn it

up all the way to here just just to be

sure

same loudness on both same clarity same

bass on the bass part yeah so these

honestly sounds identical to me there's

no sound difference what I was seeing on

Twitter a lot of people going crazy

about the sound

I disagree there's almost no difference

between them in fact there is no

difference for me that I'm able to hear

Oh what I will tell you though is that

this one started playing the faster it

connected faster look at this they both

disconnect you pop them at the same time

look at that this one pops in a little

faster pop out pop in oh yeah yeah so

apples apples claim is true look at that

that did connect faster looks like the

connection speed certainly is there I'm

able to see a faster response to the

iPhone in most cases not always which is

strange I'm sure it'll get better with

software that's that's the only answer I

have for you I was also playing around

with the cases and I got to say this one

feels more solid you can tell there's

like no give this is

new and it's a little it doesn't sound

the same even like there's a little

listen to that like there's a little

give way here now here oh no it's still

there

so side to side that's still there but

to me the click sounds a little bit

different a little more firm I'd say so

definitely on a clicky scale they got

that down but sound quality sounds the

same to me even the bass parts like

having one in each ear if you guys have

the old ones try it's like you will

notice no difference am I crazy no I

a police ound differences twos I really

don't expect any new ones there I also

want to take a look at the wireless

charging case right here let's let's see

if anything's different with this one so

earlier in the rumors we heard that one

of the cases might be a little bit

larger and out zooming that's probably

for air pods 3 as this case is exactly

the same dimension wise so for $79

you're gonna get this case here let's

see if it's exactly the same as this one

and yeah it does look appear to be the

same hinge same button placement model a

1 938 yep exact same so you're getting

the same case here same in the air pods

to set up as well

it's just softer stuff the chip inside

is gonna be different so you know just

from this just from some quick light

using I gotta say there's almost no

difference you know physically except

for the wireless charging case the

connection speed maybe even that I'm not

noticing anything any fast crazy fast

response rate so let's see this so let's

put them open at the same time right

here yeah look at that 1 2 3

I'm not seeing it be faster like okay

popped up there faster there it is ok ok

for the convenience wise $40 extra if

you're choosing between them definitely

worth it upgrading from air pods one no

the best thing you can do is just buy

the case and I'll take care of your

issues it won't give you the untethered

hey Siri or the faster connection speeds

but again I'm not even noticing those

that much now lastly let's test

connection range because these do come

with bluetooth 5.0 now and theoretically

the range should be getting better so

let's go outside see how far we can get

from the phones alright so in my left

ear

pods - guess we'll just walk all right

20 feet 30 40 feet 40 feet 50 feet 60

feet well it's still good holding strong

70 80 feet say a hundred feet still

going strong air pods - air pods one no

cutouts yet so on the fake ones we

usually start seeing a cutout right here

nothing going on here

still good I'm honestly really surprised

and we're gonna run out of space here

still got a clear shot to them still

working Wow blowing me away so nothing

on me okay we're at least 150 feet away

right now okay Oh cutting out the right

one well I guess we won in the forest

okay this one's just started cutting out

they both both just died as soon as we

got a tree in the way it's funny like

right here I step over here they start

working yeah that's funny both still

work right here though both cut out past

this tree man we need like an empty

field to really test it but yeah I would

say it's no better in range than this

one there's no difference they both cut

out they both stutter it's funny the

stutters on both happen in the exact

same time 150 to 200 feet that's crazy

and still very reliable signal as long

as there's again nothing in between you

so cool can't go wrong with range but if

you're trying to upgrade to the - to get

better range I don't see a difference no

better sound quality no better range

you're just getting the wireless

charging case slightly better connection

speed and the hey Siri thing so I would

say just get the wireless case you're

not missing out on much unless the

convenience of the hey Siri thing really

matters to you but it's really cool I

could see myself you can see myself

doing that at the gym your hands are

full you don't like the song you just

want to swap it I would say don't

upgrade from airport

air pods - it's literally not worth it

for that money you can get some really

nice headphones but definitely get the

wireless wireless charging case that

alone is pretty cool I expected more

from the speed I'm not seeing that speed

difference that 1.5 times faster I guess

in a phone call calling someone they

said it'll connect 1.5 times faster

gaming we should try that out actually

but yeah guys good value I'd say on

their own but do not upgrade from air

pods one - these simply not worth I guys

stay tuned for the next one next one I

want to test the water resistance see if

Apple improved that in any way and

actually dig into it and see what's

going on inside to get a concrete result
