Every Samsung
Galaxy S Comparison 2019! #Helpful Post
hey
what's up guys everything Apple Pro
here
and coming at you with a nostalgic
video
today the Galaxy S and ten years
of
Samsung Galaxy not even ten years it
hasn't
even been ten years since the
original
was released in galaxy s 10
plus
that's it's a little crazy in April
it'll
be ten years and we're just gonna
take
a look back it's so important I
think
to revisit the subject it's a
yearly
thing for me now and before we do
the
iPhone one for 2019 I wanted to do
the
Samsung it's this is more dramatic
in
change than the iPhones ever could
hope
to be and I love that about the
galaxies
every single one is a different
model
every single one receives physical
changes
and the way Samsung looks at
phones
I think is they want to give you
the
best they have at the given time and
that's
very apparent looking through the
generations
so let's visit this subjects
we're
gonna take a look at the original
the
newest and everything in between and
how
they stack up throughout the years
so
let me blow your mind with a couple
of
facts first this phone was released a
full
two years after the original iPhone
and
it is honestly a piece of junk like
there
is no class to its this phone will
not
be remembered as fondly as original
iPhone
it is just a turd a polished turd
this
is running Android 1.5 or 1.6 as
you
can see the touch panel sucks it's
very
small they couldn't decide if this
was
gonna be a smart phone or a device
with
buttons eventually they got that
rights
later on but this phone terrible
moving
on to the Galaxy S this was
actually
released ten days apart from
the
iPhone 3GS looking back at them now
I
don't think there was any true
competition
just yet until the galaxy s3
came
about this phone is unpolished it
has
not aged very well whereas when I
boot
up the iPhone 3GS I'm still able to
use
it and stuff
this
phone not so much and this is the
version
without the whole button so I
have
two versions are here one with and
without
depending on where you were in
the
world you got a different version
and
that's the galaxy lineup always
fragmented
you know everywhere you go
different
colors different processors
and
I don't like that I love that
Apple's
is very constant but you still
can't
help but appreciate these phones
for
what they are the Galaxy S 2 this
was
the first phone the galaxy phone
that
I actually had experience with
personally
so I was flashing this thing
way
back in the day on
channel
the Galaxy s3 is the one I
remember
quite fondly so today I think
you
can still use this phone if it came
down
to it it's still very smooth this
was
a hit this is what got Samsung on
the
map and for a smart phone like this
really
gave Apple run for its money back
in
the day
then
came the refinements s4 s5 I mean
still
very popular phones
I
loved the s5 and the water resistance
it
had that ports for faster speeds
faster
charging like this this brought a
lot
of innovation to the table I think
this
was a great phone all around s4 was
cool
I think the galaxy s4 brought
over-the-air
hover feature where you can
put
your finger over the screen and it
would
know that your fingers hovering
there
before you click anything with it
and
then the galaxy s6 this is where
things
started getting real on a
hardware
level this is where Samsung
decided
hey these plastic materials
aren't
gonna cut it anymore the iPhone
is
incredibly you know well-designed
phone
it's got great materials you look
back
at the iPhone 4 and you're not
feeling
plastic you're feeling premium
materials
since the beginning since the
iPhone
the original one even so Samsung
took
notes and that's when they started
including
glass on their design and the
aluminum
borders and Wow
like
this is a very solid phone I love
it
it looks more modern more futuristic
than
anything at the time so this is
where
Samsung started saying hey we're
gonna
we're gonna go all outs and we're
gonna
give them everything that we have
at
the time now this is personally my
favorite
one the s7 edge I think like
this
was peak Samsung right here the
peak
design if you ever hold the galaxy
s7
edge in your hand you'll know what
I'm
talking about it is slim compared to
the
iPhone 6 success it was competing
with
at the time this seriously was a
great
phone and he got wireless charging
you
got the glass on the front back the
non-existent
camera bump on the back is
very
very slim so an awesome phone and
then
the edge swipe of course introduced
that
refined it after the s6 very cool
then
came the s8 personally couldn't
really
care much for this phone it's
kind
of cool I guess but the s9 I
appreciated
this one more this is where
they
really started to embrace the
gestures
the life without a whole button
and
they made it easier to use I hated
the
position of the fingerprint sensor
on
the s8 this one was definitely better
so
you can see that throughout the
generation
they
were just trying to refine their
craft
and eventually they ended up here
the
Galaxy S 10 and you totally see
where
they're going they're going to a
future
of a smartphone without any
bezels
at all and the cameras are cut
out
here it'll probably improve that in
the
next generation so I'm excited to
see
what they've got going for the s11
but
they took the fingerprint sensor
they
introduced with the s5 and now it's
in
the display it's honestly just so
cool
to see this transition from the
original
to where we're at now so Galaxy
series
this is it let's go ahead and do
some
benchmarks we're gonna do all the
usual
tests I have to change up the
format
there's simply too many devices
there's
the edge the non edge the plus
the
non pluses so I took the best
Samsung
had at the time and that's what
I'm
comparing in this video and there's
actually
one extra one in between the
original
and the S but it's kind of not
a
very important phone but anyways let's
get
to those benchmarks and see where
Samsung
progressed the most in between
all
of these all right so as is
customary
on the iPhone side let's go
ahead
and compare every Samsung Galaxy S
to
one another this year and this is a
very
special year because this is the
10th
anniversary edition technically the
11th
but the first for whatever reason
doesn't
seem to count all of this
happened
within the span of 10 years
just
take a look at that that is
mind-blowing
displays have gotten so
good
that there's almost no phone it's
all
display now there are less buttons
the
cameras are inside the display
imagine
is showing the Galaxy S 10 to
someone
that had this phone is it's just
mind-blowing
really the comparison here
if
this was the last 10 years the next
10
years should be even crazier there's
no
way that this technology train is
slowing
down or stopping anytime soon
so
anyways this is the Android OS
versions
that these phones are running
just
wanted that to be clear these are
all
on mostly different carriers so
they'll
have some startup screens with
the
carrier logo but I try to sync this
up
as accurately as possible I needed a
new
orientation because side-by-side
there
is simply not enough pixels on
this
screen to handle lots anyways so
with
all these devices updated to their
newest
respective firmwares
the
galaxy s 10 plus being the strongest
takes
first place than the s9 then the
s8
and then the
like
cs6 jumps over the s7 then the
galaxy
s2 s5 and then the galaxy s7 and
so
on so unlike the iPhone the fastest
phone
here was the fastest to boot up
and
the slowest phone here was the
slowest
to boot up so on the iPhones I
don't
know why it's so random here but
here
the results are pretty much what
you'd
expect the galaxy s3 due to the
long
Verizon boot screen was actually
second-to-last
which was unexpected s2
is
faster than that phone how so I like
the
start up test because he gives us a
pretty
good idea of how these phones
have
aged with all the software updates
and
all the bloatware being added to
them
throughout the years and why pretty
much
how you'd expect so next up
Hardware
all of these devices are
Snapdragon
except for the last two and
the
first X and O's devices so the last
two
devices is s9 and s10 are the eggs
Inasa
versions sorry about that I keep
forgetting
and mixing up my exit na
Snapdragon
devices but it should be
pretty
close respectively to their
Snapdragon
counterparts now the s7 if
for
some reason I had a very low score
I'm
really not sure what that was about
moving
on to the antutu benchmark on the
devices
that I could test pretty much
average
scores and it did grow
throughout
the years the html5 test
pretty
much the same on most because
they're
using the same Chrome browser
surprisingly
even the s3 had a very
respectable
score now next up wanted to
show
you these screen and differences
everything
past the s6 I think was
top-notch
like the screen was almost
indiscernible
I know the generations are
different
the resolutions but all were
pretty
dang good and I tried syncing up
biometrics
as fast as possible I think
the
peek fingerprint speed was the s9
and
then the s10 but all were pretty
dang
fast moving on to cameras the
cameras
were pretty static until the s9
which
introduced to the s10 introduced
three
will the s11 introduced four will
see
although the camera quality on
Samsung's
has always been pretty decent
it's
the third-party support that gives
it
a bad rap what a journey
ten
years or eleven years of galaxies
here
it is simply unreal how far we
progressed
from a grainy almost unusable
shot
to truly some very inspiring
footage
here taken with the s10 plus
triple
camera and that's just regular
comparison
so great dynamic range great
color
I'm able to make detail out here
the
shadows and in the background it is
it
is great just I love seeing this this
really
puts that into perspective side
by
side all right so the galaxy s2 was
the
first phone capable of video on the
front
facing camera the first one didn't
allow
for that and here's the s10 so
still
the galaxies always had the
advantage
of the front-facing camera
every
single generation was always
better
than Apple's I don't understand
why
Apple overlooks that's very
important
but on the s10 applause
fantastic
better than the 10s even today
s2
did pretty well at its time
considering
the iPhone didn't get the
front-facing
camera till the iPhone 4
even
so yeah Samsung had it way back
then
they had to right then I also
wanted
to show you the back this is very
interesting
so something I noticed is
the
cameras were asymmetrical up until
the
galaxy s2 and ever since then
samsung
has tried to make everything
symmetrical
on the back which is
interesting
considering their ports on
the
bottom have never been symmetrical
it's
a very interesting blend here also
wireless
charging so you'd think the s6
was
the first to have it it was the
first
one to have it built-in wireless
charging
on the galaxies was supported
all
the way back to the galaxy s3 where
you
can buy a separate cover for it and
then
you think about Apple which just
released
wireless charging for the
iPhone
10 Samsung was ahead of them for
years
that's just nuts so all around
super
cool a lot of evolution even on
the
back here you know some were pretty
close
but overall every single model has
a
different physical look every single
year
alright guys I just want to say
thank
you for watching it has been an
incredible
almost 10 years for Samsung
and
I'm very excited to see the next 10
years
even the next two years will be
very
very interesting
once
the phones have gotten refined to a
certain
points you really
or
what they're gonna do next there's
not
much you can do but at the same time
there's
so much you can do batteries can
be
improved cameras more cameras more
screen
I'd love to see that evolution so
stick
around guys it's gonna be an
interesting
next few years peace
