Galaxy Note 9 vs iPhone X DROP Test! Durability King? #Helpful Post

Galaxy Note 9 vs iPhone X DROP Test! Durability King? #Helpful Post

what's up guys everything outpull pro
here and today the Samsung Galaxy Note 9
has hit the streets it's been a while
since I've made a video like this but I
wanted to go ahead and compare the
durability of Samsung's latest flagship
to Apple's iPhone 10 we're gonna be
getting the new iPhones here next month

so I'll have to do this with those but
this will be a little good placeholder
now just to see where the iPhone 10
stands in comparison to the note 9 so
this thing is a massive phone it's gonna
be truly competing with the 6.5 inch
iPhone I love it honestly I love the
color selection I love the stylus it's a
great phone top notch very expensive now
but you do get a lot for your money with
the note 9 but how's the durability
let's go ahead and see I was really
hoping that Samsung would have
introduced Gorilla Glass 6 on this being
their first smart phone to have it but
that's not the case it still has Corning
Gorilla Glass 5 Gorilla Glass 6 will
likely debut on the new Galaxy S 10 next
year so we're gonna be doing the usual
we're gonna be dropping them from waist
height head height and then if they
survive we're gonna go even further
I expect this one to do better Samsung
in general the durability on their
phones
lately has been better than Apple's
believe it or not I've already broken
several iPhone 10s on accident and yes
this is a slightly broken one it still
works but I didn't want to break a brand
new one for this still works it's just
water damage display otherwise still
physically sound so I'm just gonna throw
that in there see which one breaks so
let's go ahead and begin I'm gonna start
with the iPhone here and start here so a
waist height drop in 3 2 1
nothing to report so I'll set that aside
and I expect this one to do just as well
here in three two one the pen came out
kind of absorbed some of the impact more
than likely and I still have the
original stickers I don't know why I
don't like to remove these so pens okay
alive screens okay no signs of damage
aluminum is holding up very well it's an
anodized the blue looks amazing by the
way
and now the backs this is a face down on
two concrete's from about two and a half
three feet and three two hurts to hear
that but it's unscathed no issues what I
do see commonly on the iPhones is the
glass starts peeling away from the phone
from the display on the front that's
what happened to me with my last iPhone
it literally started delaminating so
hopefully they fix that with the next
generation and see what happens on this
one three two one good things no
shattering yet in fact no signs of scuff
äj-- still got plastic gun here though
it's in split view too as if to taunt to
the iPhone all right here we go with
face down so yeah if this one gets worse
you can't really blame it because
already has some weird bleeding issue
going on but the digitizer works at
least so we can use that as a baseline
okay here we go
in three two one did a nice little hop
in one let's go ahead and do the note
nine two three two one cool okay that
one has me worried just from the sheer
sound of it the iPhone is not cracked
yet not separating from the chassis just
yet seems to be a hit and miss with the
iPhones some do so well some crack
right away all right oh yes the galaxy
lives for another drop so I was very
happy to see that that did not break
just now let's take it up a notch guys
and do be head height next but overall I
can't even tell these have been dropped
yet this is a fairly smooth rough
surface at the same time and both are
holding up very well in fact the
stainless has more scratches than the
aluminum at this point but both do have
their battle scars so both have survived
about three foot falls on all angles so
far and we go on to the head height drop
this is less common I'd say but still be
good to know what your phone can endure
and I by the way if you're not using
this phone with a case what are you even
doing with a screen protector that has
saved me so many times just saying use a
screen protector they're cheap
anyways iPhone head height on the side
and three two one which the screen
actually has some scuffing on it but has
not cracked the back is not cracked I'm
impressed
still doing good same deal for the note
9 in three two one oh that hurts that
was so loud but yeah same deal got
scuffing right at the impact point pen
popped out again but it clicks in
without an issue displays are fine
everything is working and so let's check
the cameras at this point if they're
still working because sometimes the
front camera will actually disengage
yeah so this one is good - very good
both have survived back impacts
sometimes the iPhones front will break
from this here we go three two one
not a doubt that's broke and that was
such a solid impact yeah all right
that is broken but no shards sticking
out you can still continue to use it not
that I would but this is a very
expensive repair that's a $400 repair on
the iPhone because of the way the camera
is built it's it's not easy to replace
this would be so much better on the
galaxy it's literally just $20 glass lid
that you can easily replace so in terms
of repairability the note 9 would have
this one much better anyways 3 2 1 Oh
yep side impact no better it actually
does have glass fragments sticking out
so you can easily cut yourself on that
they are both shattered at this point
that's so sad yeah so sad story
both are cracked at this point but again
this is such an easy repair well easy
ish compared to this you would have to
replace the entire chassis in order to
replace this glass without ruining your
camera because if you pry that off of
its metal mounts it's never gonna be the
same you're always gonna have some fog
or focus issues when taking pictures I
know anyways so the backs are cracked
lastly let me check the displays both
are still in good shape aside from that
but ok so head hi iPhone tense
my third time doing this in three two
one
I'll wager it's definitely cracked yep
oh and it's not working at all now huh
usually if it cracks it does work oh it
is completely demolished and does not
respond I don't expect the Galaxy Note 9
to do any better so you're talking on
your phone and suddenly you can't hear
who you're talking to because there's a
v4 within a crop of itch driving by and
it slips out of your hands alright it's
3 2 1
yeah cracked at that point you know
that's that's the threshold
I doubt gorilla glass six would even
have saved this but we'll have to see so
that was so bad oh man when it comes to
the crack so this is a much smoother one
on the front on the back though it's
really peeling and I got jutting out
here but this one is still usable at
least so it wins in that regard oh hey
it's alive again so you can still use it
the cracks are much worse here they're
more focused in this area but hey both
I'd say tit equally well they both broke
at head height and both broke ahead
heights for the front as well if you're
anticipating dropping your phone from
that high might as well get a case and a
screen protector that would have
probably helped just for the heck of it
let's go ahead and drop these from
higher up just to see what happens which
one will die completely first take it to
the extreme here all right so totally
unscientific method but I'd say about
eight feet here dropping on the side and
three two one

ooh seizure time this is what happens
when the OLED display itself gets
damaged so again the digitizer stopped
responding oh something's going on and
there's green lines this guy from the
same heights here in three two one yeah
that was my bad this is just for fun so
I guess it doesn't really matter but
even though I dropped it on its face
again
look at that it is still in good shape
still responding no green lions that
speaks a lot for its durability
alright and back one more just for the
heck of it
there we go in three two one
and the iPhone in three two one
surprisingly both are still alive this
one is still working goodness knows how
this one is not hey one more couldn't
hurt right on the display one two three
chunks flying one two three okay here we
go
now this one's starting to tweak out its
flashing this one is demolished
completely okay so at this point both
are total but the Galaxy Note 9 is a
clear winner here lasted longer less
destructive glass damage and cheaper
replacements when it comes to the back
the iPhone iPhone clocked out a little
bit early but still I'd say if used in a
reasonable manner the durability of
these phones is about the same oh hey
now this one was working I was working
down here in the most cracked part huh
use a case use a screen protector you
won't even have to worry about this I'm
excited for the Galaxy S 10 with a
Gorilla Glass 6 though that should be a
lot of fun to test anyways thanks for
watching guys note 9 is amazing be sure
to check out my other videos on it stay
tuned for more face
