hey have our flag whoops what's up guys

everything up okay here let's take a

look at the home pods in both colors so

I finally got mine and these boxes are

ridiculously heavy like I did not expect

I mean this has to be one of the

heaviest Apple products first size all

right so here is the white one or

actually that's the space variable and

this is I did not even see them in store

but from what I've seen from what I've

heard these are ridiculously small so in

this video let's just go ahead and unbox

and get some first impressions and sound

quality review even though it's hard to

tell over the microphone I'll give you

guys my impression of it alright so

let's start with this white one here

very nice packaging as usual would

expect anything less from Apple and

there we go

so the disappointing thing is that's oh

okay

disappointing thing is I can't pair them

together so I can't get the full room

audio experience but hey not as tiny as

they thought but also not very large

either oh man that is heavy for its size

extremely heavy and let's peel this

cover off over here oh so satisfying and

what else comes in the box oh just some

labels and one Apple sticker interesting

okay cool very nice packaging I like

that very simple nothing else so just

this and there was actually a whole

design team that was figuring out this

mesh and how to make it look and work

and I like it feels very great it's not

that you're gonna be touching it but it

looks good also and got the cable right

here so it is non retractable for some

reason I thought that it might be but

it's not it's braided cable and let's

get that out of here yeah very basic

nothing to it so there's the white one

it's a little microphone I'm guessing

underneath as well or I don't know what

that is maybe let's go ahead a box the

space gray one

definition of space great keeps changing

with time let's see here ooh I like this

one it's a very nice color that'll match

my living room I think a little bit

better yes how would she go all right so

here are these two for a size reference

I'm going to put five from ten right

next to them as you can see pretty close

in terms of size up top a little bit

wider event it's buzz wow these are

pretty tightly they're heavy so feels

like there's some quality to them all

right so I'm going to go ahead and get

these plugged in and we can get a sound

sample going here oh very nice sound

effects now up here we've got an array

of LEDs with this milky look to it which

is pretty cool so it's not a display but

it definitely could have been according

to the leak source code it's very very

cool little indicator for Siri there and

so that's what it's gonna look like

basically just set up Kay personal

request sure transfer settings and it's

got this very cool sound effect I like

that alright so I am on iOS 11.3 beta 2

I'm very curious to see whether or not

there is any sort of pairing stereo

pairing available so I'm gonna plug this

one in in just a second here and test

that out but first let me just see what

one sounds like alone and I'm in a room

about sixteen by fourteen so just to

give you an idea welcome to home pod you

can't tell but I'm waving to get my

attention say hey Siri hey Siri what can

you do I can do lots of things like turn

on the lights give you a news update and

tell you about the weather so the volume

buttons are up here didn't even know

that pretty nifty alright so that's all

set up let's go ahead and play a song

now I heard one of the biggest

complaints about these are basically the

fact the series pretty dumb she can't do

much in comparison to Alexa so let's

play some Pablo Escobar

right away my experiencing bugs already

okay there we go okay

pretty impressive bass and the high

tones are pretty crisp it is lacking in

the mid-tones a little bit but I

expected it to be louder for some reason

cool thing is no matter where you go it

sounds the same because of all the

tweeters pointing in all directions and

yes there's a big driver in the middle

for the bass so pretty cool about that

and basically touch the top to play in

pause which is nifty so I like it's

pretty user friendly no auxiliary Jack's

nothing like that all Bluetooth

connected so alright I'm gonna plug this

other one in and see if we can get some

sort of pairing process here going and

is that a bug or no oh okay sweet so

this does exist I did not think that

this feature would be available yet but

office speakers stereo pair is available

so I'm gonna go ahead and set this up

and the white will be on the left side

I'm actually so happy that that's

available so I can go ahead and put the

stereo to the test right now and I'm

gonna go out into the big living room

with really tall ceilings and see how

that sounds alright so I've got them set

down over there pretty tall ceilings

here so there is a little bit of echo

and see how it sounds

it's honestly a little quiet for

something this big so if you guys have a

bigger room taller ceilings yeah one

will not cut it and I wish I could get

an example for two but I just cannot set

it up yet it's not available which is a

shame because that would have been cool

so yeah a little disappointed with its

sound it's not as loud as I thought it

would be from the early reviewers but

other than that sounds fantastic you

know if you're up close to it it's

pretty dang great and another thing I

wanted to test out is the sensitivity to

calling Siri while the song is playing

so let's test that out hey Siri oh that

one works on the left

hey Siri all right now both wounded so

pretty impressive if she can hear you

over the music even hi guys so just want

to say I am pretty impressed you know

great first impressions here of the home

bawd series but it could be a little bit

louder and stereo support I don't know

why they wouldn't release its with it

but you know I'll wait for it probably

during the final release of iOS 11.3 it

will arrive so I'm excited for that hi
