iOS 12 Beta 4! 55 New Features/Changes #Helpful Post

iOS 12 Beta 4! 55 New Features/Changes #Helpful Post

ey what's up guys we got some very
strange things happening today with
Iowa's 12 beta 4 there's a lot of new
changes mostly changes not really any
new features or anything like that but a
lot of very strange changes that Apple
has added to iOS 12 so let's cover that
everything has changed the performance
basically new beta of course would go

for everything that's new right so first
thing I wanted to mention it is
developer beta 4 comes in around almost
600 megabytes on my iPhone 10 and it's
quite considerable there is a big amount
of changes inside storage wise there's
almost no difference from beta 3 so it
did take just a little bit more up but
really nothing different there and the
first thing you're gonna notice is from
the setup screen there's a new splash
screen letting you know that you need to
keep your iPhone up-to-date by enabling
automatic software updates and these can
be found in the settings page and we
start our interesting changes with the
inertia the actual scrolling behavior in
iowa's told beta 4 seems to have changed
so we're gonna start here in settings
and we're just gonna flick our device
down and it's a lot more aggressive you
scroll a lot further in a beta 4 it goes
faster it's kind of interesting you can
ramp it up so that definitely has
changed and it's more apparent in Safari
so if I actually go into this website
right here and we flick down you'll
notice it's more aggressive I end up
further down in the page and actually
going back up so it definitely does have
a little bit more oomph to it I guess
you can say so scrolling is definitely
different in beta 4 and it seems that
new behavior with the scrolling actually
extends to the control center as well I
noticed that it seems a little bit more
flickable like you have more intensity
when you do so so that not only in
actual scrolling within applications
also within the system UI as well whoo
this one is so hard to notice but in the
settings application the switches now
are a little bit more bolder on beta for
Apple added a couple more pixels going
around the edges and it's definitely a
change I'll try and bring it up on
Photoshop for you as it's very hard to
see on camera and this one isn't new to
beta 4 but it's the first time I
actually noticed it so on the lockscreen
if you actually pop out your SIM card it
will put your phone into a locked mode
so you won't be able to open it up you
know using the face ID feature
automatically needs the passcode which
is an interesting change so if someone
finds your phone and they decided pop
out the SIM card they won't be able to
access it any longer or it locks out the
biome
by doing so very interesting also this
is a super cool one so take a look at
this if we go into the control center
activate airplane mode and then leave it
look at the network indicator now you
have this dynamic one with an animation
very very cool this is new to beta 4
looks really really nice this reminds me
a lot of the promised data indicator the
Apple had at their keynote when they
announced the iPhone 10 kind of back and
forth and we never saw that one never
saw the light of day so this is the
closest to that that we can get right
now and this is a very hard one to catch
in the music player Apple rearranged
things just a little bit so this
timeline player over here sits a little
bit higher the title set a little bit
higher music control seemingly just a
little bit higher it's a very very small
change but it certainly is there so they
shuffled around the controls just a
little and I'm really not sure if this
is intentional or not but when you
launch a folder the screen gets brighter
and that's beyond the max brightness
already it's kind of interesting I'm
sure it's a bug or maybe not so you know
that feature Apple introduced with USB
accessories where within an hour it
disables your USB ports now in beta 4
that goes into effect immediately as
soon as you lock your device every time
you lock your device the USB port is no
longer accessible unless you enter the
passcode when connecting it to a
computer every single time and you'll be
happy to learn that fortnight crashing
it has been resolved in beta 4 so any
issues you may have had with that no
longer in the latest beta if we jump
into beta 4 into the control center and
we start a screen recording and after
the recording starts going we jump into
here the disclaimer actually stays on
screen and it doesn't disappear it
during the recording also in the control
center if we go into the accessibility
toggle right here in the platter there's
a slightly revamped interface some bars
there for whatever reason and if we
actually enable an accessibility
shortcuts it no longer has this prompt
every single time it gets enabled or
disabled now on beta 4 and when booting
your device up if you had an
accessibility shortcut enabled when you
turn your device off it will no longer
show you the prompt as you can see that
one's enabled that lets you know that
it's on as you can see this no longer
shows up also in the control center if
we go into airdrop here there is a
larger button interface on beta 4 for
whatever reason and on device
with a home button the control center
the grabber itself is a little bit more
prominent in the top bar the blurred-out
area is slightly larger this is a new
change in beta 3 by the way who's just
reminded of it and for users with an
Apple watch you'll be happy to learn the
Apple implemented a couple fixes with
beta 4 because the issue was on the
iPhone not on the Apple watch but
anyways before when you get a
third-party notification the
notification would not stay in your
notification center it would just
disappear and the contacts would just be
gone for whatever reason all the
contexts in your iPhone would it sync
properly to the Apple watch so you'd be
getting messages from numbers and not
from contact names in the messages
application we got some more activity
stickers here so I'll pull them up this
is what we previously had and this is
what we have now so definitely a lot
more going here also a change I just
found so in mark up there is a slightly
tweaked interface for these little
pencil icons or the drawing tool icons
as you can see they're bolder now it's a
little easier to distinguish between the
thicknesses and this is true for every
single one of these so this one has a
slightly revamped one of the marker tool
the pencil one has a slightly revamped
version as well as you can see a little
bit more detail there and if we jump
into here into the color picker that one
with the multi colors has a new
interface as well no longer has a dumb
button it's a very clean in this little
bubble icon so you just click down below
to dismiss it now and then the messages
when taking a picture in the effects tab
if we go to these shapes here they're
now animated so this previously wasn't
available in beta 3 if I slide up you
can see that they're all animated and
you can go ahead and drag them out just
the same
they're just animated when you placed
them and some tweaks to them emoji
editors so going into the nose and lips
tab here and notice there's a whole
nother section or a whole nother row
here for some more lip designs and going
into ears there's a new color option
here for the shine so all the colors
have a shine to them now in the activity
app there are tweaked icons for
different workouts here so they
definitely look a little bit cleaner now
app store searches now show you a couple
more categories so stories and actual
developers and are labeled as such
previously did not have that in beta 3
now in the wallet app your passes in the
bottom right here the more info little
button that I has been replaced by these
three little dots and
blacks I definitely think that's a nice
change and in cellular options a very
nice change here is that everything is
organized all the applications by the
size and not by alphabetic order so this
is something we were asking Apple for a
decade to arrange and it's now been done
and in the Do Not Disturb settings we
have a new description now with an
actual link to the clock app and a
couple changes in here bedtime mode is
now just called bedtime and if you
actually turn off scheduled it turns off
do not disturb mode if it was enabled if
it's within that schedule at the time
where previously it didn't and I also
noticed a change with how do not disturb
mode during bedtime works
so if bedtime is enabled and it's not
currently in sync with the clock version
of bedtime or if that's not enabled it
will no longer turn on do not disturb
during bedtime mode where previously it
would no matter what and within the Siri
and search settings there's a couple
updated descriptions here the ask Siri
part and below the Siri suggestions and
in Safari in the Advanced Settings if we
go into experimental features there's
less options here now and a lot of them
have been rearranged in the software
update settings if we go into automatic
updates there is now a description below
this option within the over-the-air
settings and within the about settings
in legal if you have a home pod
connected to your device you'll now see
the home pod legal settings in here as
well or previously they didn't show and
smart inverts seems to have got a little
bit better for me for whatever reason I
was having a glitch where my control
center would reverse as well that's no
longer happening now and on the
lockscreen with smart invert enabled not
only is it faster to enter the camera
app it's not more responsive as well so
I'm not getting dropped frames like I
would before all around a better
experience and I don't know if you guys
were having this issue but in a
spotlight search I had a yahoo icon
that's way way larger than it needs to
be and I can go ahead and take it into
any application that I want it's kind of
funny so who in the photos application
we got some new icons here in the share
settings so the airplay icon now is a
new the add to album icon is a new
slightly larger reworked and also the
duplicate icon is smaller and been
rounded a little bit oh and the hide
icon has been inverted and slightly more
rounded now and in Safari the private
browsing mode is back for some reason it
was just gone for some people wasn't
working now it is and some users are
reporting that this screen here with the
weather
after you're done with do not disturb
mode can be accessed without having
always on for location tracking any
weather application I wasn't able to
confirm this mine still required it but
it may be a feature and this is new
since beta 3 but there is now accident
tracking in the Apple Maps application
so it'll let you know when that's coming
up ahead and there seemed to be some
slightly larger bolder buttons within
the carplay application and on ipad a
couple changes so when using a non
native application like instagram the
button to enlarge the application is no
longer a 1 x 2 x deal it's this little
icon with arrows and these two have been
here since beta 3 i just didn't mention
them but there is a slightly tweaked
animation when popping an application in
and outs kind of nice you get this
little Domino effects with the
applications also the control center now
has a little bit more bounce to it so
freaking it to work you can pull it down
a little bit further and it's got its
nice little animation with it not sure
if this is a bug or feature but in the
control center in screen mirroring I no
longer get an icon next to my devices
here also not sure if this is an
intentional feature but live listened
for me has been disabled in beta 4 this
is what I get unavailable for current
route with air pods
also the naming has been renamed from my
device name to just hearing also a bug
from beta 3 where you couldn't resize a
photo has been fixed now in beta for our
guys so there it is for the changes I'm
gonna go ahead and run a Geekbench here
but performance feels pretty dang good I
mean it's a little bit snappier it
should be getting better with every beta
and it certainly does feel a little bit
better
it's the animations you know the little
bit snappier scrolling that's making a
difference here for my iPhone and I
really do like that change and here's a
Geekbench on the latest beta on the last
one so a little bit lower but nothing
too unusual overall the performance and
does feel great of course if you're on
an earlier beta you need to go ahead and
upgrade and public beta should be
available pretty soon and there it is
guys I was told beta 4 good amount of
changes lots of improvements and tweaks
and some quite curious changes on
Apple's parts but yeah go ahead and
upgrade there's really no reason not to
peace
