OS 12 Beta 7! 15
Features/Changes & RIP Group FaceTime #Helpful Post
hey
guys is Apple released Iowa's 12
beta
7 let's do a quick recap on what's
new
since Apple is on a weekly schedule
now
we're gonna be getting one of these
pretty
much every week up until the
final
release next month the amount of
features
are getting smaller and smaller
with
every release but there are still a
few
notable ones to mention now first
off
the update was about 300 250 to 300
megabytes
on my iPhone 10 I did update
from
an iOS 11 point 1.2 device as I did
actually
just break-in iPhone so a
little
disappointed about that but
before
I was at 36 point 2 gigabytes
after
forty point seven three so I got
four
gigabytes back just by updating its
iOS
12
so a lot of people will be looking
forward
to that coming from iOS 11
anyway
so so we're gonna start with
FaceTime
group FaceTime has been removed
from
the current beta and will only
surface
at a later time as Apple will
not
be releasing Iowa's 12 with this
feature
unfortunately for whatever
reason
Apple's pulling another hey let
me
remove a feature and add it like a
year
later so group FaceTime will no
longer
be in iOS 12 open up messages and
you
will see a new splash screen just
like
this it tells you about some new
things
you can do with messages the
effects
camera page new way to share and
your
conversations streamlines and if we
jump
into the photos there's a new
sharing
suggestion section so it gives
you
a little memo here in d4 you tap and
the
face in the face ID logo is now back
so
previously was just blank in the
middle
and how little guys that are
greet
you again and he measure app icon
is
slightly different I guess you could
say
almost streamlined so it's been
turned
horizontal instead of this
vertical
approach and believe it or not
that's
it's just five new changes in his
new
beta and as we get closer to release
we're
gonna be seeing less and less
that's
just how it is but that's fine
because
I feel like we've already had so
many
I will do a final recap at the very
end
before the release just so you guys
have
a very good idea of what's new and
I
was 12 but that's it for beta 7 but
there
have been a lot of new features
found
from beta 6 I still wanted to
mention
now an awesome one that is in a
beta
6 is you can now sort by recently
added
any music application so
previously
there used to just be artist
and
title now there's anyone for
recently
added I noticed this one in the
last
beta and I haven't seen it being
mentioned
anywhere and that's when
scrolling
in between photos there's a
new
behavior
when
you scroll to the left and right as
you
can see the photo actually moves
inside
the frame previously it literally
just
blanked right over now it's got
this
nice new animation in between and I
don't
have a picture for reference so
I'm
showing you this but when activating
your
iPhone apparently you don't need a
sim
card anymore since beta 6 in order
to
activate it I'm gonna need some of
you
guys to confirm that but I've seen
several
users online say if it's a fresh
restore
you can activate it with how
having
a SIM card inside that is cool
that'd
be the first time in over a
decade
that Apple allows you to do that
and
within maps in certain areas in
particular
Japan and Taiwan Apple has
updated
the actual graphic for
high-speed
rails they now have a dash
through
it's slightly more distinctive
against
the very confusing background
here
so a nice visual update now we've
had
this for quite some time here in USA
in
Canada but the ability to search
gifts
has just been added to several new
countries
in particular Italy Germany
and
France now when you enable do not
disturb
mode in particular for one hour
it'll
show you when it's gonna be up so
it
gives you the time here now in this
little
memo and since beta 6 it appears
that
Siri now suggests music to you as
you
can see there's a series suggestion
right
there and depending on your mood
she'll
commiserate with you and suggest
a
type of track ok just kidding it must
be
on your habits maybe what you listen
to
often at a certain time that's what
I'm
guessing and if you have someone's
birthday
saved in your contacts Siri
will
actually suggest that you go ahead
and
call them on their birthday which is
awesome
nice little reminders for you
and
several changes on ipad so stocks
now
supports this little slot in the
split
view and it works pretty well
optimized
it's just weird that it's in
white
and not black like the iPhone
application
but cool and the
picture-in-picture
mode on ipad now has
rounded
corners and I think this further
adds
to the fact that Apple will be
releasing
the rounded iPad here very
soon
that'll fit very nicely into the
corners
of it there's a new logo that
appears
on the status bar of the iPad
when
using a lightning to HDMI adapter
this
is Apple's official one looks very
nice
alright
now you guys are completely
updated
on all of the features in beta 7
and
the latest ones in beta 6 so a
performance
a lot of users believe it or
not
we're reporting that beta 7 slowed
their
device down and the app load times
were
just abysmal at your iPhone would
just
hang and not load an app for like
and
15 even 20 seconds but happy to
report
that everyone saying after
restart
if you're experiencing that
problem
it'll go away so don't worry
performance
seems to be the same of
course
got to run a customary Geekbench
just
to be sure I really can't wait to
do
this on the new iPhones I think the
the
Geekbench scores are just gonna be
legendary
but
anyways let's see what we got and
this
is what happened to my iPhone I'm
having
this little delamination issue on
the
screen where the top layer is
literally
delaminating from the OLED
panel
so I'm having dead zones on the
screen
certain parts work all fine and
everything
is just the twos and threes
here
the one this little area is not
working
and that's a very healthy
Geekbench
score so completely normal
performance
for me is very good I
haven't
noticed that hanging issue but
if
you guys do have it again do restart
your
iPhone
everything
should be a-okay all right
guys
so there it is I was 12 beta seven
now
unofficially the release states for
the
new iPhones and subsequently iOS 12
is
September 11th so that means we have
less
than one month to go between now
and
the release of iOS 12 I'm very
excited
but I've been running the beta
for
a while you know so it's not gonna
be
anything new to me but for you guys
it
will be quite the upgrade anyways
thanks
for watching stay tuned
